You’ll learn to use all the functions on your DSLR camera, and how to build a photo even before you press the shutter.
The class will cover a range of technical aspects, including aperture, shutter speed and ISO, amongst other photography principles. You’ll also cover focal length and lenses, lighting and correct exposure.
This is a very hands-on class, so you’ll have plenty of time to practise your new skills on the day.
A DSLR camera, or a camera with manual controls is preferable, but you may bring any kind of camera or smartphone. Please also be sure to bring plenty of memory cards and fully charged batteries.
Class sizes are kept small so each participant will have a chance to interact with the host on a one-to-one basis. There will be a substantial amount of hands-on activity involved on the day, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella should the weather call for it.
Your experience doesn’t stop once the class ends - you can share your photos with your peers on the Photoh Facebook wall and there's also a Melbourne Photography Facebook Group where members can exchange photography tips, ask questions and receive constructive criticism on photos.
Let Photoh help you create beautiful moments with every click of the shutter. If you'd like to book for a date that's not listed we can arrange a private class or group class to suit your needs.

I really enjoyed being able to learn how to use a camera. I liked how we had group discussions and then were able to take photos at our own leisure by putting the knowledge learned into practice. I also appreciated the advice given by the leader when I was taking photos. 4/5 by Kate Campbell 30-6-2016

The photographer was excellent. She was down to earth and very personable, putting my son at ease immediately. She was extremely professional and helped my son to really enjoy and understand his camera. The venue was ideal for the type of instruction. From the very first email enquiry I made until we waved goodbye to the teacher, your organisation was efficient, effective and impressive. I would't hesitate recommending your organisation and we'll be a repeat customer for sure! 5/5 by Danielle Dall 9-4-2015
