Telephoto Lens

by Brooke Tasovac (follow)
Dictionary (71)

Telephoto lenses are the opposite of wide lenses - they can zoom in tightly, and very shallow depth of field can be obtained with them. They are the lens of choice for wildlife and sports photographers, and paparazzi because it enables them to shoot subjects from very far away. Focal length can vary from 70-300mm.
