Shutter Speed: Shutter speed is the amount of time a camera shutter remains open to allow light to enter through the lens to reach the sensor (also known as the ‘exposure time’) before closing.
Shutter speed is measured in increments of seconds, or fractions of seconds, such as 1/4000 (for short exposures which freeze action) or 1/30 (for long exposures which can create motion blur). Also see
