Time for another photography competition! The theme this fortnight is All About Camera Settings.
This photography challenge is all about nailing those camera settings! We're looking for photos that are well-exposed, with consideration to focus, composition and of course exposure.
And guess what? The photos can be of any style or subject for this one! Use this as an opportunity to find something you love photographing, and perfect your camera skills!
Time to switch to manual mode!
It can be tempting to rely on the tools available in editing software to iron out any mistakes you might have made when out shooting, but it will save you (LOTS of) time in the long run if you practice getting things right in the camera!
The exposure triangle and manual mode are confusing when you're first getting your head around them, but we've got your back, and have plenty of articles to get you started:
How will you use camera settings to balance the contrast between light and dark?
Will you be emphasising certain settings like shutter speed for creative effect?
What style or subjects in photography interest you the most? Use this competition to show us! It doesn't matter if you're a landscape, portrait or macro photographer....we just want to see your best shots!
Playing around with aperture can result in some interesting compositions and focal points
Take your time when out shooting to create high standard photos, rather than quick snapshots
Remember to keep an eye on your exposure in the camera, and avoid any unintentional overexposed or underexposed areas.
Lastly, have fun! Go and create something you're proud of!
