Here are the finalists for the Exploring Camera Angles in Photography competition:
Jane Lemon, Adelaide
Lisa Lawrie, Brisbane
Michael Reid, Canberra
Glenn Cockerton, Melbourne
Fiona Childs, Perth
Jocelyn Aldis, Sydney
The winner this fortnight is...Glenn Cockerton from Melbourne!!
Congratulations Glenn! You have won a $100 photography voucher! Now if this stunning shot by Glenn isn't an inspiration for you to always look up and properly look at your surroundings when you're with your camera, then we're not sure what will be!
Glenn has been careful to line up the camera and create this beautiful symmetry, and the composition only focuses on the ceiling and nothing else around it; creating something quite abstract and mesmerising!
We think that this shot has been captured so meticulously by Glenn, and it makes us want to explore the buildings in our city and see what we can come up with!
The theme for next fortnight is Using Colour in Photography
Colour can be such an important component in setting a mood of a photograph, and certain colours can really impact the tone or atmosphere of a shot.
You’ll be surprised at how creative you can get when you focus on colour in your shots!
Think about how you can focus on a single colour, or explore how you can play with different complementing or contrasting colours.
Once you start playing around with colours, you'll be amazed at how much you start to think about and consider them when you're out composing photos.
