Whilst some people would rely on post processing to get this kind of shot, it is possible to create this in camera with a bit of patience and observation. Sunset and Long Exposure with ND filters - Trigg Beach - 6pm - 2 hours
We will be playing with neutral density filters to achieve smoky water and intensify our sunset.
We will have time before and after sunset to experiment with ND filters to blur the water. Ideally you will need a set of filters which has variable filters as well as various solid filters (etc ND4,ND6 ND8) You can buy these quite cheaply as a set which fits into a filter holder which you attach to your lens.
Variable ND filters help you even out the exposure at sunset giving you more detail in your foreground.

Jon was great! He was super approachable and his methods were effective. It helped me think about colour in black and white more than I have in the past, which is what I wanted.
