For the selective colour theme this fortnight the group classes were shown how to feature colours prominently in their photos, using in-camera methods such as composition and aperture.
To see all of the photography competition entries, head to the album on the Photoh Facebook page here.
The finalists this fortnight are:
Deborah Forbes, Adelaide
Deborah has used shadows to ensure only the purple petals and yellow centres of the flowers are highlighted in the frame, which has kept her photo clean and free of other distracting colours.
Chelsea Nuemann, Brisbane
This photo is very simple but achieves the brief of emphasising one colour in the image without any post-production tricks, using only a few elements in the frame.
Peter Mitchell, Melbourne
The pops of red in the wall and the subject's lips in this photo provide a strong contrast to her neutral skin tone, drawing the eye in. The photo is also given a great sense of context by showing the beach location in the reflection without drawing focus away from the red.
Chong Lee, Perth
The overcast weather in this photo has created dark tones in both the sky and the water, which allows the yellow boat to really cut through and have a strong impact on the viewer. It's position in the foreground also enhances it as a focal point. Great capture!
Tracey Good, Sydney
The burst of red in this image is powerful because it is surrounded by black and white tones and no other primary colours. The effect is striking among the layers of white umbrellas and gives the entire photo an abstract look and feel.
The winner this fortnight is...Tracey Good from Sydney! Congratulations, you have won a $100 JB Hifi voucher!
And in second place we have...Chong Lee from Perth, who has won a $50 JB Hifi voucher.
