Photography Competition 48: Abstract Photography
All of the Photoh groups have been thinking outside of the box for the
theme this fortnight.
Abstract photography is a chance to combine all your photography knowledge, and really get creative with a range of subjects and techniques.
Try using smoke or steam, bokeh, unusual textures, patterns and you could even create your own filters using shaped or coloured glass in front of your lens.

Photoh Facebook page here
The finalists this fortnight are:
Deborah Forbes, Adelaide
The interplay of light and texture in this photo is really suitable for the theme, it looks surrealistic and captivating.
Jenny Austen, Brisbane
Shape and pattern are the key abstract features of this photograph, which are enhanced by the macro view of the subject.
Lyn Dwyer, Melbourne
The pattern is transferred across the frame in a very artistic way, and this was achieved because of the great viewpoint Lyn used.
Laurence Baudoin, Perth
The combination of the reflections, unusual shadows and fine lines within the grain of the wood, all work together to make this photo incredibly intriguing to look at.
Sarah Norman, Perth
This photo is a great example of how aperture can be used to shape light and single out certain details to be strangely mesmerising.
Goran Mirceski, Sydney
The depth of detail in this photograph is visually stunning (without being too busy), and the composition is excellent.
