All photographers know composition is something that can make or break a photograph. Finding new ways to capture and frame subjects involves using a number of different rules besides the rule of thirds – such as leading lines, the rule of odds, filling the frame and negative space, among many others. The Photoh students experimented with all of these at the group classes this fortnight.
All the photos that were entered in the competition can be viewed in the
album on the Photoh Facebook page. The finalists for this fortnight are:
Lisa Stewart – Adelaide
Karen Angus Gersch – Brisbane
Lin Loy – Brisbane
Glenn Cockerton – Melbourne
Tony Burnard – Perth
Kathy Wallace – Sydney
Rachel Baird – Sydney
Terry O'Hagan – Sydney
The winner for first prize this fortnight is..Rachel Baird from Sydney! She will receive a $100 JB HiFi voucher.
The winner for second prize is....Lin Loy from Brisbane, who has won a $50 JB HiFi voucher.
For the next photography challenge the theme is shutter speed/freezing motion. Entries will open on Saturday the 27th February and close on Thursday the 10th March at midnight. First prize is a $100 JB Hifi voucher and second prize is a $50 JB Hifi voucher, or a Photoh class of your choice.
