The second round of the photography competition focused on The Rule of Thirds and our students in the Sydney, Melbourne and Perth groups submitted some really beautiful shots (unfortunately the Brisbane group had to be cancelled due to the unpredictable weather).
You can see all the photos that were entered in our album on the Photoh Facebook page but here are the entries from the three state finalists:
Ann Hodgson - Sydney Taken at Martin Place.
Tony Milton - Melbourne Taken as part of a photoessay, near Federation Square on Valentines Day.
Stephanie Will - Perth Taken at Point Walter.
All these photos demonstrated how the Rule of Thirds helps to give an image balance. However there can only be one winner and the winner for this fortnight is...Ann Hodgson!
She will receive a Taylor camera bag (from Camera Chick) valued at $179 and can choose her favourite colour from caramel, chocolate, dark moss green, French sky blue, rice brown and terracotta.
The next photography challenge theme is Simplicity. Entries will open on Saturday the 28th February and close on Tuesday the 10th March at 5pm. The prize is a Canon or Nikon remote shutter release and Velbon tripod, valued together at $120. Using a remote and tripod you'll be able to take photos at night without blur, get creative with shutter speed and take plenty of self-portraits too!
Read our post on the competition rules and guidelines if you'd like more information before submitting a photo. If you have any other questions you can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
