Photography Challenge 98: Worm's Eye View Photography Montage

The theme for this photography challenge was Worm's Eye View Photography!

This was a chance for everyone to experiment with different camera angles and capture the world in a new perspective.

Worm's eye view is all about using a super low camera angle, as if you are seeing the surroundings through the eyes of a tiny bug or critter, who would see our everyday objects as towering giants.

Worms eye view can be used to create the illusion of power when used for a portrait, or to emphasise the height or dominance of an object.

It's so easy to shoot at our own eye-level, but try mixing the angles up to see how you can get creative when out with your camera next.

See all of this theme's entries here on the Facebook Photoh Facebook page in the album here.

Let's take a look at the finalists this fortnight!

The winner this fortnight is...Sandra Kennedy from Perth! Congratulations Sandra! You have won a $100 JB Hifi voucher!
The thing that struck us about Sandra's photo is how the super low camera angle transforms an ordinary park bench into a towering structure, looking imposing in the foreground. There are then lots of layers through the composition: the blurred leaves in the immediate foreground, the tree branches framing the sky and then the skyscrapers adding extra height in the background. You really feel as though you are a small creature looking up at the man-made structures dominating the scene. Very clever way of capturing an everyday scene in a worm's eye perspective.

And in second place we have...Emma Neems from Sydney, who has won a $50 JB Hifi voucher!
If you were the worm that had this view, we've got a feeling you wouldn't be around to tell the tale. What a great, creative shot! We loved the concept.
By having a wide aperture, and things such as the grass blades in the composition enhances the feeling of a worm's eye view, and placing your focus on the foot storming towards you.

The theme for next fortnight is Festive Photography
