Taking the time to consider your composition and framing is one of the best ways to instantly take a better photograph, and it can be what separates good camera skills from a candid snap.
There are plenty of ways to get creative with composition in street photography, and getting out and about in your local area is a great exercise for testing out ideas and building up a portfolio. The street photography genre encompasses a wide range of other photography styles, such as portraiture and reportage.
We'll be looking for competition entries that show a great level of thought in the framing of the subject, demonstrating that the photo was taken with purpose, or at the decisive moment.
"To me, photography is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event as well as of a precise organization of forms which give that event its proper expression." - Henri Cartier-Bresson
