The competition theme this fortnight is Black & White Photography.
Capturing our colourful world in black&white shots is about more than just desaturating your photos in editing. It's all about seeing and using the rich tones, contrasts and patterns that can be emphasised with black & white.
We want to see how you use black&white photography creatively to capture light, contrast and the scenes around you.
Think about why the scene in front of your lens would work in black&white. Do you need to adjust your settings to exaggerate the light or contrast in any way?
How will you get creative with black&white? Don't be afraid to experiment!
If you’re deciding to create a black and white image, it pays to think about why. What story are you hoping to tell, and why would monochrome work better than colour in this case?
The subjects can be anything for this competition, so use it as an excuse to try something different! Scared of portrait photography? Give it a shot in black and white and see what you can create! Never tried landscapes? Pack your camera and explore somewhere new with black&white images in mind.
Push your creativity!
